The Thyssen Museum exists thanks to a lease agreement and a subsequent acquisition by the Spanish Government, of a large part of the Thyssen-Bornemisza family's own and private collection. This family was one of the most powerful in Germany.
This museum is one of the most important art galleries in the country. It gathers works of art from classic and modern artists. This makes it one of the most visited thanks to its pictorial variety and the artistic collection of the Thyssen-Bornemisza family contains works from Gothic to pop art.
Within the Thyssen collection there are masterpieces by geniuses such as Dalí, Picasso, Cézanne, Van Gogh and Gauguin, as well as exhibitions and different activities that you can consult in the "More Information" section.

Opening hours of the Thyssen Museum of Madrid

Tuesday - Sunday: 10:00 am - 06:00 pm
The last access to the Museum can be up to 1 hour before closing.
The exit from the different rooms should be done 5 minutes before the closing time.
